| ACTIONS AND PROGRESS MADE IN FIRST YEAR OF BLACKCYLE | - AXELERA: Created in 2005 in the Rhône-Alpes region of France, Axelera is the French cluster at the crossroads of the chemical and environmental sectors. Axelera is recognised as an "Innovative project factory.” Economically, this region is ranked second in France (7th in Europe) and is also known as the first chemical production region in France. Axelera is committed to developing sustainable, efficient, circular, and clean solutions for industry. Learn more - ORION: One central target of the BlackCycle project is to produce so-called Sustainable Carbon Black (sCB) from recovered oils (r-oil) from the pyrolysis process using End-of Life Tires (ELT) as feedstock. Learn more - SISENER: During this first year of the BlackCycle project different progress have been accomplished in the existing pyrolysis plant and future TRL7 distillation line. Learn more - CPERI / CERTH: CPERI/CERTH has long expertise in the development of catalytic processes for the production of renewable energy and other products. Our involvement in BLACKCYCLE is two-fold: optimization of the pyrolysis process of End-of-Life-Tires by applying novel catalytic pyrolysis concepts and upgrading of the pyrolytic oil via catalytic processes, such as hydrodesulphurization and aromatization. During the first year of the project, good collaboration was established between the partners and significant progress was made for each task. Learn more | - ESTATO: ESTATO Umweltservice GmbH is one industrial partner with long-term experiences in ELT recycling and as part of the H2020-Project BlackCycle involved in different workpackages but leader of workpackage 4 "Tyre selection“. Learn more - ICAMCYL: The Raw Materials Information System (RMIS) is an instrument of the European Commission, developed by the Directorate-General (DG) Joint Research Centre (JRC) in cooperation with the DG for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (GROWTH). The RMIS is the Commission’s reference web-based knowledge platform on non-fuel, non-agricultural raw materials from primary and secondary sources and provides an overview of the European raw materials context. Learn more - QUANTIS: Quantis’ work during the 1st year (M1-M12) of BlackCycle was focused on the preparation of the framework for the health & safety, sustainability and economic assessments and the data feeding into the Raw Materials Information System of the European Commission. Learn more - MICHELIN: The BlackCycle project aims at creating, developing, and optimizing a full value chain form ELT feedstock to Secondary Raw Materials (SRMs), with no waste of resources in any part of the chain and a specific attention for the environmental impact. These SRMs will be used to develop new ranges of passenger car and truck tyres, which will be sold commercially in European and global markets.
